Go on a fast from impulse buys
Try this little 'curb your consumerism' experiment: give up unplanned purchases for one week.
Given that the amount of stuff we throw away means it would be better to buy less in the first place, resolve to give up impulse buys.
If you see something you would like, go home and think about it first before making your decision.
Decide to do this for a week and see how you get on.
