Learn the 'waste hierarchy': reduce, re-use, recycle

Sometimes we get so obsessed by recycling that we forget it's better to buy less in the first place.

So learn the waste hierarchy: reduce, re-use, recycle – and start living by it!

The idea is that it’s best to reduce (to buy less in the first place and reduce your ecological footprint), next best to re-use, and that recycling is the final option.

If you think about it, any remaining waste is ultimately a failure of us, or of our culture, to use God’s world sustainably.
