Be a silent blesser

Next time you’re in a queue at Tesco – or wherever – silently bless those standing next to you in Jesus’ name.

Silently bless someone at the supermarket checkout

But not in a weird way – no need for gestures! Just a silent prayer in your head.

Expect God to impact their life with his love and life.

Supermarket Cashiers
Please pray for the Supermarket Cashiers and their families- some will be students working holidays or weekends; some young Mums raising families; others older men and women needing additional income. Whatever the reason, they often work long hours, for low pay and little thanks from the majority. Bless them (silently) in Jesus name and with your smile or kind words.

Silent blessings
I have been trying to do this action and I've noticed two things. First, it has drawn to my attention how I can make a snap judgement about a person and their circumstances based on what I see or hear; but praying for them helps me to challenge my assumptions and ask for God to bless them in whatever they might be going through. Second, I have found myself doing this not just with strangers but also people I know - praying for them quietly when they mention something happening in their lives, it might be an event or a problem etc. Having prayed I am then more likely to remember what they've said and ask them how it's going at a later date, so I can really begin to show care for them.
