Hold a community barbecue
We did this primarily to get to know our neighbours and share Jesus' love with them on 17 May 2010.
It was a wonderful success, with the majority of people invited coming and a lot of others from the village.
It was wonderful to watch the families sharing their meal together, the mums and dads all talking and the children running around playing.
We had quite a few people who could not believe that we were feeding them for free!! and we made a lot of new friends and managed to talk about what we did in our church and what other activities were available.
I strongly recommend it - we are still reaping the benefits - one neighbour asked us recently to keep an eye on his wife while he went into hospital - someone we had not spoken to before the BBQ!
