Please pray for Debbie and Helen as they prepare student ordinands from Wycliffe Hall in Oxford for their cross-cultural mission visits to Southall UK and to Uganda, later today. Please also pray for these students when their visits take place in March.

Please give thanks for the first CMS day conference for people involved in residential Houses of Mission, held in Oxford this week. It was an introductory day of vision and encouragement and about 40 people attended, including some from Korea and Pakistan, and some who are just starting out in this challenging mission lifestyle. Please pray for all who came, for others we know who were unable to attend and for the development of good support networks for the future.

Give thanks for the recent CMS people in mission conference as well as the core training that took place for new CMS people in mission and associate mission partners. Please pray that all the information that participants received will continue to be meaningful and helpful to them as they go their separate ways.

From 18 to 29 July we will be at All Nations Christian College again for the CMS People in Mission conference and core training of our new mission partners. Please pray that these two weeks will be refreshing as well as a time of reflection and learning. Please pray that when the mission partners move again to their different places of service, that they will feel supported and part of the worldwide mission community.

From mission partner in training Ann-Marie Wilson, campaigning against female genital mutilation (FGM): "There is an event on Saturday 2 July from 9.20 – 12.30 being attended by Faith leaders of Christian, Jewish and Muslim faiths. Speakers are planned from the Christian and Muslim groups (not from the Jewish community as it’s their Sabbath) and statements will be read from other contributors (Rabbis; Churches around the world; hopefully even the Archbishop of Canterbury).
"We are seeking Church Leaders to make a statement along the lines of: ‘The Bible states the body is a temple of God. There is no instruction or religious obligationfor female genital mutilation (FGM) mentioned in the Bible and the practice is a harmful custom that is not advocated’.

Please pray for the Lausanne Leadership meeting that takes place from 20-24 June in Boston. I will attend this meeting as coordinator of the Resource Mobilization Working Group. During this meeting we will finalise a strategy and implementation plan to increase Christian giving and improve stewardship globally. We need real wisdom as we see God's guidance. A number of leaders in our group experience serious spiritual attacks including illness in their families. Please pray for protection.

Please pray for the CMS/Centre for Youth Ministry Encounter team who depart for Bangalore, south India, on Friday 20th May. Pray also for their host, Jacob Isaac and the Kerygma team. They would value prayers for good health during their 10 day visit, and for good learning to take place from all that they encounter.

We have received news from New Zealand CMS that their staff are safe after the second earthquake in Christchurch. "Praise God for his provision for our staff members and for the support, comfort and kindness we have received from others. Give thanks for the structure of our building which kept all staff members safe. Please pray for us as a staff team as we plan for the next few weeks, months and years in a changed and broken city. Please pray for believers in Christchurch to use this opportunity to show God's love to others. Please pray for us to share our faith and the hope we have in Jesus Christ."

Please pray for the work of Anglican Evangelism and Church Growth initiative where 9 people representing all core areas of Anglican Communion are meeting this week in KL, Malaysia. Praise the Lord for the confirmed commitment that Christian witness and evangelism remain a high priority for many Anglican communities around the world and pray for the meeting, decision making and practical follow-up to this important event.

All the time, people are discovering the CMS community and becoming members because they want to live a life of mission. Please pray for the encouragement of these new members.

From Monday the People in Mission Conference will start. Please pray that these 4 days will be refreshing and encouraging for the participants, who are often very busy during their home leave in the UK. Also the CMS core training for our Mission Partners in Training will start. We will be together for 2 weeks, exploring the CMS vision, experiencing the CMS community, learning about mission and culture as well as the practicalities of living in another culture. Please pray for a good time of learning and growing, as well as for a good time of getting to know people and enjoying this time together.

The preparations for the coming mission partner conference and the core training of new mission partners is in full swing. This event will take place from 10 to 21 January at Windmill Farm in Clanfield. Please pray for the team working on this, for wisdom and sensitivity to the needs of the participants.

Please pray for all those considering an Encounter Mission Community visit to get alongside anothe Christian community somewhere else in the world in 2011.
